Toke – Harvest – Cure
What came first, the chicken or the egg; I constantly reflect upon this.
What came first, the seed or the plant; the smoke or the cure.
I’m not sure what my first contact with cannabis was. I grew up around those that smoked and some that grew although I still knew very little about the plant. Growing up I was ultimately left to decide for myself how I saw drugs and the vices we all choose.
There’s a lot I have learned from my interactions with this plant. Growing cannabis honestly was something that always excited me. I grew up learning about plants and was always immersed in nature. Never expecting to grow cannabis a lot of what naturally interests me is a huge part of gardening.
- Soil Food Web & Recycling
- Schedules & Systems
- Health & Wellness
Focus in each of these areas is what I’ve found best helps Cannabis and myself grow. I try to grow as natural as possible in the most vigourous conditions I can while practicing different grow techniques on each lineage of plant.
- Low Stress Training (LST)
- High Stress Training (HST)
In each technique I try to approach the plant as close to nature as possible. Cannabis has a natural resistance to the elements and has been foraged on by animals so that all of the traits it needs to stay alive are there ready to be expressed. Breeding and many other variables reduce a plants tolerance for any one thing so I’ve implemented a series of breeding programs to best express a plants genetics.
- The Gauntlet
- The Ringer
Each regimen can be used with various systems alongside preferred growing techniques.
With every technique and each new run I hunt for a large spectrum of genetic qualities. Landraces, Pures, Hybrids, and F1s are all put through a breeding program to better find these key traits that make up the genetics at NovelTHC.
