Started from bag seed of the local tree I smoked, my first time growing was a huge challenge. Unknown genetics are hard to discuss until you grow those seeds out, and even harder still to discuss any potential with those in on your operation. Certainly having a guide to how many weeks a given plant strives best in is a huge plus.
I started out with a little knowledge of growing plants and how they grow, two Cannabis Grow books, and some other helpful resources. These sources have taught me an extensive amount about how genetics work and what the environment means for the plant.
Sativa is too far genetically different to become Indica but with a defined range of what makes a plant; Indica, Ruderallis, Sativa, or Hybrid one can grow for the same phenotypes to produce plants with (hybrid)vigor.
Breeding and growing for different reasons helps best express the plants potential. Testing the genetic line at all stages of growth helps produce better genetics while stimulating potentially dormant genes in the cannabis plant.
Every new cross has a different growth pattern and so we have bound cannabis to better discuss the plant and it’s effects. It is with an understanding of cannabis that these categories can be further defined and redefined.
Each plant regardless of phenotype is cannabis; growing for cannabis breeds better cannabis.
